We have recently heard the comments made by music composer Ismail Darbar’s on AR Rahman that purchased his Oscar for the film Slumdog Millionaire. And on reacting to this Rahman responded that Oscar awards cannot be bought as the jury itself consists of 3000 people and it is beyond the way to do such things.

The comments of Ismail also irked The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which presents the Oscar awards.
The Academy’s communication director Leslie Unger said, “It is not so easy to buy an Academy Award. The Academy stands behind the reliability of the voting while some disagree with the voting results”.
It is also known that the Academy might instigate legal proceedings against the music composer Darbar for his allegation and a file denigration charges against him is going to made for USD 50 million.
