As long as she was active in politics Roja avoided Kollywood film offers that came her way. But now after she had bid good bye for politics she wanted to give a powerful re-entry in Tamil.
Sensing her purpose, her director husband Selvamani talked to Vijay's father director S A Chandrasekahar and then came the offer to play Vijay’s mom-in-law in ‘Kaavalkaran’.
‘Kaavalkaran’ with Vijay and Asin in lead is the remake of Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’. Rajkiran plays the role of Asin's father and Roja will play the mother of the heroine. The film is fast progressing in and around Karaikudi.
The film will be shot in locations like Karaikudi. Kanadukathan, Chettinadu, Thirumayam and Tirupattur which are considered lucky places for Ilaya Thalapathi
