A milk bath in Mumbai awaits Rajnikanth

Its the Rajnikanth magic again. Today, within two hours of opening of the ticket window, tickets for all shows of Rajni's film, Robot: Endhiran got booked till Sunday.

And on Friday, the October 1st, there is going to be more drama. About 5000 Rajnikanth fans are organising a mega event to celebrate the release of another Rajnikanth film. Anand Raj of Agile Indiya Rajnikanth Fan Welfare Association gives us the details of this event. He says, “The reel of the movie will be taken to Ram Mandir in Matunga, to seek God’s blessing in a special puja. Thereafter on a horse driven chariot it will be taken to Arora theatre in Matunga, followed by a huge procession.” He adds, “In the procession, many fans will walk, carrying pots of milk on their heads and at the venue, Rajnikanth’s poster will be given a milk bath with about 100 to 200 litres of milk.”

Ask him about what is it that they like about Rajnikanth that they almost treat him like God and Raj replies, “I have no idea. I just know that I love him and all other members of the fan club love him too.”

Natrajan, the owner of Arora theatre says, “We have slightly increased the rates of the tickets. Usually our tickets are priced at Rs 60, 70 and 80 depending on the seats one chooses. For this movie it will cost Rs 80, 90 and 100. And on Sundays, it will be at the cost of Rs 90, 100 and 120.” He adds, “We are expecting huge crowds on the weekends for the reservation of the tickets. During the release of Sivaji:The Boss (Rajnikanth's earlier film), people had queued up since 7 am and have even had fist fights for buying the tickets."
